Email to Faculty/Back to school news from the library

• The library is again hosting “Meet your librarian” day, this year on September 8. I will be expanding this event (with a colleague or two) to a table in or near Pierre’s Landing. Please say hi if you are nearby!
• We have a very small amount of donor money for books this year. If you have something that you would like for me to purchase, and if it is essential to your research, please let me know. (this money is not transferable to any other resources, sorry. Book requests only.)
• You all know by now that we won’t be losing most of the LOUIS databases. (and none that I would consider essential to the Business College.) I don’t know what will happen next year.
• Finally, LSU Libraries subscribes to the WALL STREET JOURNAL (via Factiva.) Please let your students know, and please ask me to help with access if you need it with this database.

I will again have walk-in office hours in Patrick Taylor this fall. This semester I will be in the SMART Lab Conference room (2301 Patrick F. Taylor Hall) from 10:30 am until 1:30 pm on Wednesdays.
Please let your students know that I welcome them to come by for any type of help that they may need from the library. They may also email me for an appointment if they prefer to see me in Middleton. Help is also always available at the Middleton Reference desk.
Please remember that I am available to come to your classes and speak with your students about library resources. I can take as little as 10-15 minutes to introduce myself and cover library basics, or as much as an entire class session to give in-depth instruction. I am also happy to set up library workshops for your students outside of their class hours if you would like to offer extra credit to attendees.

Please keep the Library’s Business subject guide in mind. I’m always updating it with new resources. http://www.lib.lsu.edu/bus/index.html

It’s good to have a library full of students again. I hope to see each of you this semester, either here in Middleton or in Patrick Taylor.
Please let me know how I can help you to help your students. I am attaching a couple of resources that you may wish to add to your course resources.
